Speaking as an American - trains aren't that common of a form of transport here, unless you count the subways in big cities...the main form of public transport here is bus, and lemme warn ya, probably not the best or safest choice.
Just my two cents...Good Luck :)

yes, i've heard our American cousins are not so keen on public transport!
Evans and I had planned to go on a bit of a road trip to the states this summer (admittedly, this was a couple of years ago we made this plan) but he keeps getting distracted by Ed, so it might have to wait til next year.
In the (small) amount of research I did, it did seem like if you don't hire a car, you can't really get anywhere!
Well, public transport's all we've got. I still haven't learnt to drive and Ed thinks its 'conforming' to learn, so he refuses to ever try. So we're stuck with the buses, if what you say is true dawtch! Thanks for the tip...
